You should also be aware that supporting audio and video on the web is
undergoing a significant change in the transition from HTML 4.01 to
HTML5.
HTML5 includes a couple of new tags <audio> and <video>. Several modern
browsers (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.) already have implemented
support for these new tags. Although I'm not sure if everything is
completely settled yet.
